We all need to feel that we have gifts to give that are acceptable and valued" ~ Fred Rogers
Today we pay tribute to Fred McFeely Rogers, the much-loved host of the PBS television show, Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. Mr Rogers was born on March 20, 1928 in Latrobe, Pa. His show approached issues that children faced which were rarely touched on by other programs.
With a degree in music composition, he wrote 200 songs for the show, including the theme, "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood." Mr Rogers neighborhood featured some of TV's most enduring characters including the deliveryman Mr. McFeely, X the Owl, Queen Sara Saturday and King Friday which helped keep the show fresh for generations of kids. Mr Rogers died on February 27, 2003 in Pittsburgh PA. We all miss your gentle and kind nature sir.
