Scenes around the Steel City

The largest Coke plant left in the United States located in Clairton, PA south of Pittsburgh along the Monongahela River. The plant was established in the early 1900's along with the establishment of Clairton. This plant along with the Edgar Thomson Works and Irvin Plant are part of the Mon Valley Works. This is one of U.S. Steels largest operating plants in North America and offers a glimpse of what the whole Pittsburgh region once looked like before the 1980's.

About Chris Litherland:  Photography has been a significant part of my life since 2001. I was only 14 when I first picked up a camera. Since then, I have traveled significantly and love to take photos of historic architecture and nature. I moved to Pittsburgh in 2013 after living most of my life in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. I absolutely love exploring the East Coast; there are so many amazing things to photograph.  Follow Chris Litherland Photography on Facebook
