Pittsburgh Inclines
At one time Pittsburgh had about fifteen inclines. Only the historic Monongahela Incline, still the world's steepest, and the Duquesne Incline are still in existence. You will find the Monongahela Incline at West Carson Street at Smithfield Street Bridge to eastern end of Grandview Avenue at Wyoming Street atop Mount Washington. You will find the Duquesne Incline at West Carson Street opposite the Point to Western End of Grandview Ave between Oneida Street and Cohassett Street atop Mount Washington. The photos on this page are courtesy of many amazing photographers. Please check out our main photo page to view more photos from the "OneBurgh Preferred" Photographers. We would love to have old photos of all of the Inclines. If you would like to contribute a photo to our collection, please email us your photo with name of Incline and specify courtesy of.
